Einride and EASE Launch Daily Driverless Freight in Ohio
Two cabless, driverless electric trucks are now in daily scheduled service between EASE Logistics warehouses in Marysville, Ohio.

Two Einride cabless electric trucks are now running scheduled daily freight routes between EASE Logistics warehouses in Marysville, Ohio. The vehicles operate on EASE property and local public roads without anyone in the cab, monitored by a remote operator off-site. Einride and EASE Logistics announced the daily driverless freight runs on Tuesday. The trucks shuttle in a closed loop between EASE's two facilities in the city.
Peter Coratola Jr., founder and CEO of EASE Logistics, said deployments like this "help move autonomous trucking from controlled pilots into daily freight operations."
Deployment tied to multi-state automation initiative
The Marysville run is part of the Truck Automation Corridor Project. This is a joint effort of the Ohio Department of Transportation, DriveOhio, and the Indiana Department of Transportation. The multi-year, $8.8 million initiative, launched in 2021, studies truck automation on major routes in Ohio and Indiana.
The project aims to prepare the states' interstates for automated freight transport. It seeks to improve safety, reduce fuel consumption and emissions, increase efficiency, and build fleets' comfort with automation. Varying levels of truck automation are being deployed and studied. This marks EASE's third autonomous trucking deployment with DriveOhio.
Data from daily use to guide next phase
Operational data on safety, reliability, and efficiency began flowing last month. Einride and EASE plan to use this daily service data to guide the next phase of deployment. Information on miles driven, loads moved, and uptime will inform how autonomous freight scales beyond the initial Marysville route.
Henrik Green, CTO at Einride, stated, "Daily operations in Marysville give us the proof points we need to keep expanding autonomous freight across the corridor and beyond."
Leadership and company context
Peter Coratola Jr. leads EASE Logistics, a company he founded in Dublin, Ohio, in 2014. It has grown into one of the largest privately held logistics companies in Columbus. EASE is a nationally recognized provider known for innovation and proprietary technology. EASE operates as two entities: EASE Logistics, a third-party logistics provider, and EASE Expedited, an asset-based transportation and warehousing company.
Einride was founded in Stockholm in 2016. The company is a technology leader driving the transition to sustainable, cost-efficient autonomous and electric freight. Its platform integrates AI-powered freight intelligence, proprietary autonomous technology, and one of the world's largest electric heavy-duty fleets. Einride serves a global customer base across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. It operates under a dual business model encompassing Freight-Capacity-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service.
EASE and Einride plan to use the operational data to support scaling discussions with ODOT, INDOT, and prospective logistics partners.
