CMA CGM, ONE add 153,000 TEU as Wan Hai
DynaLiners reports 20 new containership deliveries totaling 153,000 TEU in August 2026, led by CMA CGM and ONE.

The global containership fleet expanded by 153,000 TEU in August 2026, according to the latest DynaLiners Monthly report. The data shows 20 new vessel deliveries alongside fresh orders for 29 firm ships, signaling continued capacity growth across major operators.
CMA CGM led the latest round of deliveries with the two largest vessels. The shipping line took delivery of the 24,200 TEU CMA CGM Pantheon and the 16,100 TEU CMA CGM Roi Arthur. Together, these two ships added 40,300 TEU of capacity to the fleet.
Other major lines also received new tonnage. Evergreen took delivery of the 16,600 TEU Ever Even, while Maersk received the 14,800 TEU BAL Athena. Ocean Network Express (ONE) featured prominently with two new vessels. The ONE Success and ONE Summit, each with a capacity of 13,900 TEU, contributed a combined 27,800 TEU.
Other Major Delivery Details
Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) received the 10,300 TEU MSC Maria Marilyn X. Wan Hai took delivery of the 8,700 TEU Wan Hai 903. Hapag-Lloyd's new vessel was the 8,300 TEU Santorini Express, and ZIM received the 7,900 TEU Agate. The 4,000 TEU Kasif Kalkavan, operated by Turkon, completed the list of larger deliveries.
DynaLiners recorded 11 deliveries of 4,000 TEU or more with a combined capacity of 138,700 TEU. Another nine vessels below that size threshold added 14,300 TEU, bringing the total for the period to 20 ships and 153,000 TEU.
New Orders Focus on Larger Vessels
While new capacity entered service, shipping lines also placed orders for future delivery. According to DynaLiners, Wan Hai placed the largest new order. The Taiwanese carrier ordered seven 11,000 TEU vessels and one 9,200 TEU ship at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. These eight firm vessels represent 86,200 TEU of future capacity, with deliveries scheduled for 2029 and 2030.
New orders spanned a wide range of vessel sizes and involved several other operators. The report listed firm orders for 29 vessels with a combined capacity of 187,700 TEU. An additional eight options could add another 24,600 TEU if exercised.

Activity extended into smaller vessel segments. Jinrun Shunyu ordered two 3,300 TEU ships with options for two more. Songa Box ordered two 1,300 TEU vessels, with options for four additional ships. Blue Ocean Shipping ordered a single 700 TEU feeder vessel from Ningbo Xinle for delivery in 2028. The latest DynaLiners figures point to further fleet additions scheduled through the end of the decade.
